When your mother and father told you to ‘eat your greens’ or your Grandma told you that carrots would ‘help you see in the dark’, you probably rolled your eyes and thought that vegetables were pretty dull huh? Well now that you are a fully grown adult, it’s time to get that vegetable scraper out because the news is that vegetables can spice up your sex life!

Asparagus
Asparagus is a sexy little vegetable that boosts your sex hormones through its source of Vitamin E. As a result, your sex drive is sure to soar – not least because of the other important vitamin it contains – Vitamin A. It only needs blanching in a little salted water for about 3 minutes and it’s ready to go! Immerse it immediately in cold water to keep it nice and firm. You can then put it in a yummy salad or add it to a risotto if you fancy something a little hot!
Celery
This crunchy little number used to be a feature at any 1970s party buffet. Could it be that there is more to it than meets the eye? It’s ribbed for your pleasure and that is just for starters! For men, celery is believed to be ripe with two pheromones (androstenone and androstenol) which are emitted through an odourless secretion that is said to be powerfully attractive to women! The same hormones, when released in women, can have a positive effect on their energy and libido so it seems like chomping on a stalk is an all round winner! Raw celery root has been used as a treatment and cure for impotence for a few hundred years - so if it comes to the crunch – that has to be worth knowing!
Carrots
Whilst seeing in the dark may be an all important skill for those who prefer the lights off, carrots have another very important benefit in the bedroom (or kitchen, or bathroom…)
The vitamin A contained in carrots is a crucial factor in maintaining the health of your epitheleal cells. Without playing doctors and nurses, in lay mans terms, many of these cells produce the lubrication necessary for many of the body’s internal surfaces – including the sexual organs. In short, it helps to keep your bits and pieces slippery!
Eat it raw – whole or grated as a healthy snack or slip one in as part of your Sunday roast – either way you should feel the benefit.
With many of us starting a diet after the holiday season it’s good to know that there are some things that we do not have to do without. Low calorie healthy food that leads to a good workout can’t be all that bad, can it?
